I
have
always
been
a
bit
of
a
history
buff
-
especially
wars,
with
my
favorites
being
World
War
II
and
the
American
Civil
War.
In
1997
I
read
an
excellent
book
entitled Band
of
Brothers
by
Stephen
Ambrose.
It
really
got
my
attention,
this
book
describing
the
paradrops
in
the
early
morning
hours
of
D-Day.
What
the
101st
went
through
was
quite
amazing
and
I
couldn't
get
this
event
out
of
my
mind.
In
late
1997
I
started
designing 101:
The
Airborne
Invasion
of
Normandy
(published
by
Empire
Interactive).
The
game
was
a
success,
to
say
the
least.
Reviews
were
quite
positive,
the
negatives
of
the
gaming
engine
weren't
considered
a
show
stopper,
and
people
bought
it
by
the
thousands.
(In
fact,
you
can
still
pick
it
up
today.
I
think
it
retails
for
around
$10.00
and
sometimes
you
can
find
it
on
the
shelf
at
CompUSA
or
Best
Buy).
I
immediately
wanted
to
do
a
sequel
and
improve
on
the
parts
we
just
didn't
have
the
money
or
time
to
work
on
more
heavily
with 101.
I
thought
that
this
would
happen
quite
quickly,
but
in
actuality
it
has
taken
us
the
better
part
of
two
years
to
get
here.
We
pre-sold
the
game
back
in
late
1999
and
2000,
and
we
already
have
several
hundred
orders
on
file
-
thanks
to
all
who
have
left
your
money
with
us
in
support
of All
American.
And
now
we
are
close.
Just
a
few
short
months
and
we
will
have
a
sequel,
All
American:
The
82nd
Airborne
in
Normandy.
We
have
left
in
all
that
people
liked,
and
hopefully
have
added
enough
features
and
tweaks
to
make
everyone
happy.
I
know
I'm
looking
forward
to
playing
it!
Happy
Gaming!
