My name is Curt
Pangracs. Raging Tiger is a game that represents the next step in
continued evolution of the Armored Task Force (ATF) engine created by
ProSIM Company. With the help of Pat Proctor, lead developer and president
of ProSIM company, I believe a new standard in battalion-and-below
simulations has been set. There are many new components in Raging Tiger
which allowed me to be very creative in scenario development, adding tons
of cool new features, like marine amphibious operations and
vehicle-carrying units.
Armored Task Force
presented a number of scenarios designed to exercise the players abilities
in different mission types. Raging Tiger takes this philosophy a bit
further with scenarios designed to give a "backstory" to each
mission. I felt that this would give the player a bit more information as
to "why" they are conducting an attack, rather than attacking
for the sake of attacking. Fortunately, you don't have to follow the
scenario to play Raging tiger. You can "jump into the turret" on
any mission!
I also changed the
style of graphics, using realistic 2D side-views uniquely created for each
vehicle type instead of the overhead graphics in ATF. The maps are also
different, as I used a mix of original terrain-types and some generic
satellite imagery to give a different feel to Raging Tiger.
This is my first
foray into commercial wargame development. My biggest hope with Raging
Tiger is that I have created a game with almost unlimited replayability,
pleasing to the eye and actually capable of teaching the casual wargamer
about intense, modern combat operations. I sincerely believe I have
acheived these goals, and I want to thank Pat Proctor for giving me the
opportunity to work with the ATF engine and the support to create Raging
Tiger.
Finally, I would
like to thank my loving family for their support and understanding during
these long months of "spare-time" game development, and all of
the beta testers who helped bring a great product to the public.
