Time: The near future. Place: The shattered United States of America. Situation: Once more the U.S. is thrust into a civil war. Task: To command your robotic mechanized forces to victory and unite the United States.

Remote Assault is a futuristic real-time strategy game that places the emphasis on the "real" of real-time strategy. While the setting may be hypothetical, and the units quasi-science fiction in nature, gameplay itself is firmly rooted in the real world. From the physics of shellfire to the determination of line of sight, Remote Assault takes everything you like in a hardcore tactical wargame and transplants it easily into the realm of fast paced RTS action without sacrificing any of the detail.

What truly makes Remote Assault shine is the fact that the computer opponent fully comprehends the gameplay system, making it a very tough opponent. If you're used to the usual AI tactics found in most RTS games like the tank rush or the trickle attack be prepared to take a beating. Remote Assault's AI is easily one of the best on the market. Able to analyze the current battlefield situation and exploit your weaknesses, facing the computer will be like facing the instructors at the NTC in California. Learn the lay of the land, attack in force, and have a contingency plan in mind and you might-repeat, might-make it to fight another day.

If the computer sends you packing you can always try you hand at fighting your friends over a LAN or online. And with a full featured scenario editor included expect plenty of bang for your buck.

Remote Assault combines realistic wargaming with a science fiction RTS game for the ultimate in strategy gaming that makes you think on your feet or die with your boots on. Are you up to the challenge?

"It’s not often that I feel physically exhausted after playing a game... but Remote Assault does things to my brain."
--The Armchair Empire

"If you are a fan of Wargames, or just interested in trying something different, Remote Assault offers enough tactics and strategy to keep your brain churning for hours at a time." --Immortal, Game Zone

"One of the most interesting parts of Remote Assault is that not only is it a typical war game, but the simulation aspect is that you really do run the war for your side."
--Simulation News

♦  One of the very few RTS games on the market that models realistic combat conditions even in a science fiction theme.

♦  Fully rendered three dimensional terrain and unit graphics. Best of all you have complete camera control, allowing you to view the field of battle from any angle or orientation.

♦  True line of sight. Enemy units are only spotted if friendly units have a bead on them. No mystery shrouds of darkness or all seeing eyes.

♦  Tremendously detailed chain of command structure allows the player to command the way he or she wants to; for precision attacks order single units or for a "human wave" type assault take control over entire groups. From micro to macro, unit management has never been better.

♦  Finally, a RTS with pathfinding that doesn't make you want to smash your mouse in frustration. According to the developer Remote Assault uses linear predictive collision avoidance and implements A-Star at three different levels. Yeah, we're not quite sure what that means exactly either, but we do know that means no more units wandering off on long marches or getting hung up on terrain features!

♦  Artillery and tank shells are governed by realistic ballistic trajectories that take into account wind resistance. When was the last time you had to factor in the direction of wind gusts when playing a RTS? Like we've said, Remote Assault combines the best of wargaming and RTS gaming together in one tasty mix.

♦  The attention to real world detail continues in the damage rules. Units are not simply in either a good condition or destroyed, but rather can be in several states depending on the amount of damage suffered. Sensors can be lost, movement restricted, weapons knocked out, or armor destroyed.

♦  The ability to dictate unit behavior on an unprecedented scale. Command units to act in self-preservation, to conserve ammo, and more. For those players who don't like to get that detailed you may also choose from simple settings, like acting aggressive or conservative.

♦  Full featured mission editor to extend gameplay beyond the basic campaign. A snap to use, scenarios are easily traded amongst players.

♦  Supports LAN and Internet play for up to two players.

"I would recommend this game to armchair generals of almost any tactical ability: beginners should find the campaigns an intense challenge, while the more battle-hardened veterans should be pleased by the ability to tailor their forces' behaviors to suit their style of play, and the detail included in the line of sight and ballistics modeling." --Wargamer.com

"I kid you not... the freaking AI surrounded my main group. I have never seen that before."
