In 1918, after four years of devastation, the supposed War To End All Wars came to a finale. Once proud Germany humbly accepted defeat at the bayonet point of the Allied armies. Soldiers that had hoped to be home before the leaves fell finally returned to the lives they had left behind. Peace was at hand.

Yet the dark shadow of death and destruction still clung like a shroud to Europe. Russia plunged into a bloody cultural revolution that would eat away at the Rodina for decades to come. The world was wracked with economic failures unlike anything seen before. The victorious Allies began to fracture, distrustful of each other, and in some cases even began to turn into future enemies. And in Germany, broken and debased by the peace treaties of 1918, a failed artist ascended to power...

In September 1939 what had been building up since the end of the Great War finally boiled over. The German Wehrmacht supported by the Luftwaffe crossed into Poland under the pretense of defending the Fatherland from Polish aggression. With that history was made as the Great War became known as the First World War, for the Second World War was now beginning!
